Annual Scholarship MWK Lower Saxony
Every year, artists from Lower Saxony who have applied to the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture and have received an annual scholarship can spend part of their scholarship period in Worpswede. They will be provided with studios at the Künstlerhäuser Worpswede for their working stay.
These are artists from the fields of visual arts, music/composition and literature.

Scholarships of the Künstlerhäuser Worpswede
- Quarterly scholarship
With the help of the Karin and Uwe Hollweg Foundation, the Künstlerhäuser Worpswede offer annual scholarships with changing thematic focuses and varying lengths of stay.
In 2021, artists were selected for our "Quarterly Fellowship" through a call for applications. Four artists (pairs) will spend three months each in the studio houses and work on the theme "Scholarship Site of the Future". Their works will be included in this year's process of "Future Workshops", in which the content-related orientation and spatial redesign of the Künstlerhäuser Worpswede will be repositioned and designed.
In 2020, the artist group "ZEFAK" was a guest at the Atelierhäuser for one year.
- Music scholarship
In 2021, the "Worpswede Music Scholarship" will be implemented for the first time by the Künstlerhäuser Woprswede as a pilot project. The musician and composer Petros Leivadas will be a guest for six months.
The scholarship was created with the help of donations from many private supporters. We will report how this format will continue.
- "Change of scenery - A German-Czech literary exchange".
In cooperation with the Literaturhaus Bremen, a scholarship holder of the literary exchange "Tapetenwechsel" is a guest in the Künstlerhäuser Worpswede every year.
The program is a form of support for writers that enables authors from Germany to devote themselves entirely to their artistic activities during a stay in the Czech Republic.
The program is realized by the Virtual Literature House Bremen, globale e.V., the Künstlerhäuser Worpswede, the Czech Literature Center (section of the Moravian National Library) and the German-Czech Future Fund.
Authors from Germany who already have publications to their credit are eligible to apply.

Four fellows were selected, each of whom will spend 14 days in the Martin Kausche studios of the Künstlerhäuser Worpswede.
